CIMAT is a public research center integrated into the Mexican Public Centers System of the Secretariat of Science, Humanities, Technology, and Innovation (SECIHTI). It is dedicated to the generation, transmission, and application of specialized knowledge in the areas of mathematics, statistics, and computer science. Oriented towards scientific research, the training of high-level human resources, the improvement of society’s mathematical competence, as well as support in solving problems that fall within its areas of interest, CIMAT seeks to contribute to scientific development and technology.
Duties and Responsibilities
Successful candidates are expected to play an active role in strengthening and/or expanding our research lines, as well as enhancing the national and international reputation of our graduate programs. In particular, applicants are expected to conduct cutting-edge research in Statistics, preferably in one or more of the following areas: spatial and spatio-temporal statistics, environmental statistics, biostatistics,
high-dimensional statistics, statistics for data sciences, artificial intelligence and machine learning, industrial statistics, or computational statistics, as well as at the intersection of these fields, encompassing both theoretical developments and practical applications.
Position Qualifications
Candidates must hold a PhD in Science, obtained within the last fifteen years, in Statistics or related areas.
