The Division of Biostatistics advances scientific knowledge to benefit individual and population health by creating, disseminating, and implementing rigorous, innovative statistical methodologies across the entire spectrum of biomedical research.
Duties and Responsibilities
The Associate Research Scientist will work closely with Biostatistics faculty and clinical investigators in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology on application of statistical methods, data management, data workflows and monitoring across a wide range of areas. The Associate Research Scientist will work with clinical researchers to contribute to study design and protocol development, to perform statistical analysis, to contribute to data interpretation, and manuscript preparation. The Associate Research Scientist will engage with diverse datasets, including those from the electronic health record and clinical trials.
Position Qualifications
Candidates must possess a master’s or doctoral degree in statistics, biostatistics, or related quantitative area and 2-4 years of relevant work experience. Qualified candidates must demonstrate proficiency in statistical methods for clinical trials, longitudinal and multivariate data, survival data analysis, and high-dimensional data analysis. Strong computational skills (i.e., proficiency in SAS, R, and/or Stata) are required. Candidates should have strong motivation and dependability, the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, a commitment to reproducible research practices, team science, and strong oral and written communication skills. Additionally, candidates with experience working with electronic health record and administrative data (vital records, Medicaid/Medicare or other claims data) and with training or experience in reproductive epidemiology or application of statistical methods to clinical obstetrics and gynecology are highly desired.
Salary Rangewithin the range of $90,000-$100,000, commensurate with degree and experience.
