Duties and Responsibilities

The Department of Epidemiology and Biostatistics is seeking a highly motivated postdoctoral research fellow in biostatistics to develop novel statistical methods motivated by translational and clinical research in oncology. The fellow will have the opportunity to contribute to the following areas:

• Statistical methods for the analysis of spatial -omics data
• Statistical methods for multi-modal data integration
• Statistical methods for the analysis of synthetic data generated by AI/LLMs

The postdoctoral research fellow will also be involved in high-impact collaborative research with investigators in bone marrow transplantation and CAR-T cell therapy. The fellow will be mentored by Dr. Samorodnitsky and will build their professional network by joining a cross-institutional team of statistical, clinical, and scientific investigators from Weill Cornell, Johns Hopkins University, Fred Hutchinson Cancer Center, and UCLA.

The fellowship length is for an initial period of two years, with the possibility of an extension into a third year.

Position Qualifications

Key Requirements:
• PhD in biostatistics, statistics, or related field
• Proficiency in R or Python
• Interest in translational research and collaboration with clinical teams

Expectations:
• Strong oral and written communication and critical thinking skills
• Ability to work independently and within multidisciplinary teams

Salary Range$72,000 – $96,405
