The Hong Kong Polytechnic University (PolyU) is embarking on a global search for outstanding scholars to join our newly established Faculty of Computer and Mathematical Sciences (FCMS). We invite applications for the positions of Chair Professors, Professors, Associate Professors, and Assistant Professors.

Position Title: Global Search for Chair Professors / Professors / Associate Professors / Assistant Professors
Duties and Responsibilities: About FCMS: Faculty of Computer and Mathematical Sciences (FCMS), established on 1 January 2025, is at the forefront of the Artificial Intelligence (AI) revolution, addressing the growing demand for expertise in AI and digital transformation. FCMS comprises Department of Applied Mathematics (AMA), Department of Computing (COMP) and Department of Data Science & Artificial Intelligence (DSAI). FCMS works closely with the newly established PolyU Academy for Artificial Intelligence (PAAI) in world-leading AI research and applications. With a team of over 125 academic staff and 390 research personnel, we deliver comprehensive degree programmes across all levels. Position Qualifications: Research Excellence: FCMS is dedicated to becoming a world-class faculty in research and education. We welcome scholars from all areas of AMA, COMP, and DSAI. We are seeking candidates passionate about research and teaching, have an outstanding academic background, and are committed to academic excellence. Our priority research areas include:
1. Foundation of AI
2. Statistical Learning and Optimisation
3. System and Infrastructure
4. Generative AI
5. Edge AI, Decentralized Computing, Federated Learning, Blockchain and Security
6. Quantum Computing
7. Brain-Inspired Computing and Human-Computer Interaction
8. AI for X (Medicine, Science, Healthcare, etc.)
Chair Professor and Presidential Young Scholars Scheme: World-leading scholars will be appointed Chair Professors. Outstanding young scholars will be appointed Assistant Professors or Associate Professors with conferred title of "Presidential Young Scholar" and offered an attractive remuneration package of not less than HK$1 million per year as well as a start-up grant of not less than HK$4 million to support research activities (including the admission of PhD students, purchasing of equipment, and hiring of research staff) in the initial three years.
