Position Title: Postdoctoral Research Fellow
Duties and Responsibilities: Applications are invited for candidates with a Ph.D. in biostatistics, statistics, or a related quantitative field for a Postdoctoral Research Fellow position within the Department of Biostatistics, Epidemiology and Informatics, Perelman School of Medicine, at the University of Pennsylvania. The postdoctoral fellow will join Dr. Sharon Xie’s research lab (https://sites.google.com/view/sharonxielab/home) and Penn Alzheimer’s Disease Research Center Biostatistics Core (https://www.med.upenn.edu/adrc/ ). The fellow can start any time after September 1, 2025. The fellow will be primarily mentored by Dr. Sharon Xie, but is expected to work with a group of excellent statisticians, informaticians, neurologists, neuroscientists, and neuropathologists in the Penn Alzheimer’s Disease Research Center. The length of the postdoctoral position is two years. The position primarily involves developing novel statistical methods to address many challenges of analyzing Alzheimer’s disease and related dementia data, which is a fast-growing area. Methodological areas of interest include electronic health records (EHR) data related methods, survival analysis, missing data, measurement error, and high-dimensional data. In addition, the fellow is expected to work on collaborative projects to gain experience and produce publications in medical journals. The fellow will have many opportunities to identify their own research projects of interest through working on real-world problems. Position Qualifications: Doctoral degree in biostatistics, statistics, or a related quantitative field. Strong methodological and theoretical training in statistics. Excellent communication skills (written and oral).
