Duties and Responsibilities

This position is expected to be 50% time in each of the Departments of EECS and Statistics, although an appointment at different percentages can be made by mutual agreement.
This position aims to build upon Berkeley’s legacy at the intersection of statistics and computer science in the areas of Machine Learning (ML) and
Artificial Intelligence (AI). We seek exceptional candidates who will expand our strength in shared research areas of critical need, Trustworthy AI and
Foundations of Statistical ML and AI, while supporting undergraduate and graduate teaching in Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning (AI/ML).

Position Qualifications

Basic qualifications (required at time of application)
PhD (or equivalent international degree), or enrolled in a PhD or equivalent international degree-granting program at the time of application.

Salary RangeThe current base salary range is $84,100 – $163,200 (9-month academic-year salary); however, off-scale salary and other components of pay, which would yield compensation that is higher than this range, are offered to meet competitive conditions.
