The Department of Population Health in the NYU School of Medicine was founded in 2012, and consists of core areas of biostatistics, epidemiology, healthful behavior change, comparative effectiveness and decision science, behavioral economics and health policy, and medical ethics.
Duties and Responsibilities
The post-doctoral candidates will work closely with Dr. Jiyuan Hu, Associate Professor in the Division of Biostatistics at NYU Grossman School of Medicine. The role involves developing cutting-edge statistical, deep learning, and AI approaches to advance the integrative analysis of high-dimensional, multi-omics, multi-modal data (including proteomics, metagenome/microbiome, metabolome, and EHR data) from large-scale population studies. The successful candidate will also engage in collaborative research with multiple partners across the medical school.
Position Qualifications
• Ph.D. in Statistics, Biostatistics, Epidemiology, Bioinformatics, or Computational Biology.
• Ability to analyze high-dimensional `-omics and/or EHR dataset.
• Prior experience in statistical/machine/deep learning/causal statistics, statistical genetics research is a plus.
• Strong communication skills (written and oral) and organizational skills.
• Self-motivated and collaborative individuals are encouraged to apply.

The current research group consists of three dedicated members, including one postdoctoral fellow and two research scientists. Our primary focus revolves around advancing statistical methodologies for the analysis of complex `-omics data and electronic medical record data.
