Duties and Responsibilities
We are seeking a highly motivated postdoctoral fellow in biostatistics to develop innovative efficient and robust statistical methods at the intersection of methodology and impactful biomedical applications. The fellow will have the opportunity to contribute to one or more of the following priority areas: (i) surrogate marker development within a causal framework, with an emphasis on modeling longitudinal immune responses and linking them to time-to-event outcome; (ii) addressing challenges of complex non-compliance in cancer screening trials; (iii) efficient design and analysis strategies for multi-cancer detection (MCD) trials, and (iv) utilization of high-dimensional metabolomics data for dietary biomarker development in diet-disease association analysis. Data collected by the HIV Vaccine Trial Network (HVTN), the COVID-19 Prevention Network (CoVPN), the cancer Early Detection and Research Network (EDRN), and the Women's Health Initiative (WHI) studies will be used as a basis for the methodological works. The applicant will also have the opportunity to join collaborative projects and analyze large datasets to present and publish research results with high public health significance.
Position Qualifications
PhD degree in biostatistics/statistics; strong theoretical background and programming skills; strong oral and written communication skills; strong independent problem-solving skills. Excellence in R is required. Proficiency in C/C++ a plus. Experience with survival analysis, longitudinal data analysis, two-phase sampling techniques, methods for handling missing data, causal inference, measurement error models, and methods for biomarker evaluation a plus
