Duties and Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be expected to teach a typical course-load (4 courses) during each of two semesters per year. A modest amount of service and academic advising is also expected. There is no research-related workload associated with this position. The appointment period is nine months per year, but opportunities for teaching additional summer courses may be available for additional compensation.

Position Qualifications

The applicant must have an earned M.S. or Ph.D. in Statistics or a closely related area. A strong teaching record and experience teaching a variety of Statistics and Data Science courses effectively are highly desirable. Willingness to teach in hybrid or online formats is a plus. Prior experience or willingness to teach using R and python, active learning and project-based methods is also highly desirable. Candidates with industry experience are also encouraged to apply. Candidates with significant teaching experience may be considered at the Senior Lecturer level at the time of offer.
