Duties and Responsibilities
The Dr. Bing Zhang Department of Statistics in the College of Arts and Sciences at the University of Kentucky in Lexington, Kentucky invites applications for a full-time Lecturer position to begin August 1, 2026. The selected candidate will be appointed to a 9-month, nontenure eligible faculty position for an initial two-year period that has the potential for renewal and for promotion to Senior Lecturer after five years. Assigned duties will include undergraduate instruction, primarily in courses at the 100- to 300- level. In addition, the successful candidate will be expected to mentor undergraduate students as needed and perform routine departmental service. We seek applicants who intend to establish a long-term teaching career within the Department. Evidence of teaching excellence is valued as well as the administrative, organizational, and mentoring skills required to teach and coordinate large classes. The expected distribution of effort for this position is 90% instruction, 5% service, and 5% professional development.
Position Qualifications
A Ph.D. degree in statistics or a closely related field by the time of the appointment is preferred, but candidates with M.S. or M.A. degrees in Statistics who have an established record of successful undergraduate instruction are encouraged to apply.
