University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center – RESEARCH ASSISTANT/ASSOCIATE/FULL PROFESSOR

Company Information: The mission of the HPRC (https://healthpromotionresearch.org/) is to reduce the burden of disease by addressing a broad range of modifiable health risk factors, including tobacco use, sedentary lifestyle, poor diet, and risky alcohol and other substance use through research, novel intervention development, and dissemination of research findings. The HPRC has 28 faculty (https://healthpromotionresearch.org/Faculty) and contains four major resources that facilitate research.
The Department of Biostatistics and Epidemiology (https://publichealth.ouhsc.edu/departments/biostatistics-epidemiology) is housed within the COPH, Oklahoma’s only accredited School of Public Health (https://publichealth.ouhsc.edu/). The Department is the largest of four in the College and comprises 25 faculty and approximately 75 graduate students in MPH, MS, and PhD programs. Faculty perform research in the analysis of longitudinal and other correlated data, survival analysis methods, clinical trials methodologies, Bayesian statistics, survey sampling methods, statistical genetics, high-dimensional data analysis, health disparities, tobacco control, communicable diseases, trauma-related health outcomes, reproductive and perinatal epidemiology, and cardiometabolic outcomes in diverse populations.

Oklahoma is culturally unique given that it is home to 39 federally recognized Native American tribes. Oklahoma City (OKC) is the 20th largest city in the United States and rapidly growing. OKC has a very affordable cost of living (e.g., $125,000 in OKC = $250,000 in San Francisco, $218,000 in Boston, $160,000 in Denver, $153,000 in Chapel Hill), excellent schools, and a wide array of cultural amenities. Forbes magazine recently ranked OKC as one of the TOP 3 cities to move to in 2024. OKC has thriving cultural, art, and music scenes, and has experienced considerable urban revitalization efforts over the past several years.
