Position Title: Faculty Lecturer (Teaching)
Duties and Responsibilities: Job Duties
The successful candidate will be involved in the academic activities of the Department of Epidemiology, Biostatistics, and Occupational Health. The incumbent will be expected to demonstrate aptitude, enthusiasm, and excellence in teaching; they will be expected to participate in both in-person and online teaching.
The incumbent will be expected to develop content for, and teach, up to four 3-credit biostatistics and data science courses per year. The successful candidate will assist in the oversight and management of the department’s online programs. The successful candidate will also be expected to participate in committees and other service roles while involved in discussing best teaching practices within the School of Population and Global Health, the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences, and the University. Other tasks may include the following:
• Transforming existing teaching material for use in online formats;
• Supervising students in biostatistics and epidemiologic research projects;
• Assisting with the coordination and teaching of external/professional development workshops.
The successful candidate will also be expected to be actively involved in relevant aspects of McGill’s academic mission (e.g., research, teaching, supervision of students, and involvement in academic and administrative committees).
McGill faculty members are expected to contribute to service activities within their units, the University, and the wider scholarly community. A demonstrated commitment to equity, diversity, and inclusion is also expected.
Position Qualifications: Qualifications and Education Requirements

• Demonstrated organizational skills, and proven ability to work in a team;
• A demonstrated commitment to high-quality teaching and inclusive pedagogy;
• Fluency in English is essential; a working knowledge of French, or a commitment to acquiring it within few years of appointment is preferred.
