University of Pennsylvania – Postdoctoral Research Fellow, Research Associate, Lecturer, and Instructor

Position Title: Postdoctoral Research Fellow, Research Associate, Lecturer, and Instructor

Duties and Responsibilities: We are recruiting postdoctoral research fellows for development of statistical/machine learning methods and algorithms, with applications to clinical evidence generation using real-world data, drug repositioning, learning health system, and large language models motivated applications.
Examples of areas of particular interest include (but are not limited to): (1) Federated/transfer learning algorithms and distributed inference; (2) Causal Machine Learning; (3) Counterfactual analyses; (4) Clinical evidence generation using digital twins; and (5) Multi-agent models.

Position Qualifications: Doctoral degree in Statistics, Biostatistics, Computer Science, Epidemiology, Data Science, Engineering, or a related quantitative field.
Strong theoretical training in statistics and computing (R and Python) are desired.
Excellent communication skills and good track record of writing scientific papers.
Experience in statistical theory and methods development, machine learning, and comparative effectiveness research is preferred.
The position is available immediately and for up to three years.
