Position Title: Postdoctoral Research Scholar in Biostatistics: Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center
Duties and Responsibilities: Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center (MSK) is one of the world’s premier cancer centers, committed to exceptional patient care, leading-edge research, and superb educational programs. The blending of research with patient care is at the heart of everything we do. The institution is a comprehensive cancer center whose purposes are the treatment and control of cancer, the advancement of biomedical knowledge through laboratory and clinical research, and the training of scientists, physicians, and other health care workers.
We are seeking a highly motivated postdoctoral research scholar to develop novel statistical and machine learning methods for addressing cutting-edge research questions inspired by MSK’s unique, multi-institutional, large-scale longitudinal microbiome datasets. Areas of focus include predictive modeling, feature selection, synthetic data generation, data harmonization, and multi-modal data integration.
This position presents an exciting opportunity to address clinically impactful research questions through data-driven approaches. The successful candidate will join a dynamic microbiome research group comprising biostatisticians, computational biologists, physician-scientists, and wet-lab scientists, with opportunities to collaborate on large-scale cancer microbiome studies across multiple institutions. The research scholar will be co-mentored by Drs. Teng Fei and Li-Xuan Qin for an initial period of two years, with the possibility for extension into a third year.
Position Qualifications: 1. A PhD in biostatistics, statistics, computational biology, bioinformatics, or a related field.
2. Experience in one or more of the following areas:
o Longitudinal and survival data modeling
o High-dimensional statistics
o Machine learning
3. Experiences in high performance computing system and/or statistical software development.
Salary Range: $55,439-$100,940, depending on the number of years of experience.
