Columbia University – Postdoctoral Research Scientist in Biostatistics
Company Information: The Department of Biostatistics at Columbia University in the city of New York is seeking 1-2 postdoctoral associates to work with Dr. Yifei Sun (Columbia) and Dr. Yize Zhao (Yale).
Position Title: Postdoctoral Research Scientist in Biostatistics
Duties and Responsibilities: The research will span a variety of projects with a primary focus on developing innovative statistical and machine learning methods. Specific projects include but are not limited to: (1) dynamically predicting complex time-to-event and longitudinal outcomes using data from observational studies and electronic health records, and (2) integrating diverse data sources for comprehensive Alzheimer's disease biomarker analysis. The team is also open to exploring additional areas of research that align with the candidate's interests.
The primary responsibilities of this position include developing novel methods, implementing them in software, analyzing real-world data, and preparing manuscripts for publication.
Position Qualifications: Candidates must hold a PhD in biostatistics, statistics, or a related field. Successful candidates should have strong training in statistical methods and excellent computational skills (e.g., R, C++, Python). Experience with semiparametric/nonparametric methods, machine learning, or working with survival or longitudinal data is advantageous but not required.
Salary Range: $71,050-$85,000
