Outside UAB, the postdoctoral fellow will also have the opportunity to collaborate with several researchers from the Department of Biostatistics at University of Michigan.
The postdoctoral fellow will work with Dr. Satwik Acharyya at UAB with a primary research focus on developing novel statistical and machine learning methods for spatial transcriptomics/proteomics datasets. The candidate will be responsible for analysis of large-scale datasets and development of scalable and data integration based methods for high-dimensional genomics data. The postdoctoral fellow will work closely with their advisors and research teams to conceptualize research questions, analyze data, and write manuscripts.
Candidates with a doctoral degree in biostatistics, statistics, bioinformatics, computational biology, or a closely related discipline are encouraged to apply. The successful candidate will have solid quantitative and communication skills, proficiency with statistical software (e.g., R, Python, C++), and strong track record of publications.
