Postdoctoral Research Scientist

The Department of Biostatistics at Columbia University in the City of New York is seeking a Postdoctoral Research Scientist in Biostatistics to work with Drs. Min Qian and Shing Lee. The position will provide a wide range of exciting opportunities to develop methodological research at Columbia University Irving Medical Center.

Duties and Responsibilities

The candidate will develop machine learning and statistical approaches with broad applications to medical research. Candidates with experience in machine learning, advanced computing, precision medicine, and analytics for large-scale multi-modality data are strongly encouraged to apply. The primary responsibilities include developing methods, implementation with software, analyzing real world data, and co-authoring manuscripts. The results are expected to be published in both methodological and substantive journals.

Position Qualifications

Candidates must have a doctoral degree in statistics, biostatistics or related fields, solid training in statistical methods, and excellent computational skills. Strong self-motivation and ability to work independently and efficiently are important considerations.

Salary Range$71,050-$85,000

The salary of the finalist selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to departmental budgets, qualifications, experience, education, licenses, specialty, and training. The above hiring range represents the University’s good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting.
