Duties and Responsibilities

Applications are invited for appointment as Tenure-Track Associate Professor/Assistant Professor in Statistics in the Department of Statistics and Actuarial Science (2 posts) (Ref.: 526698), to commence as soon as possible, on a three-year fixed-term basis, with the possibility of renewal and consideration for tenure before the expiry of a second three-year fixed-term contract. Direct tenure may be offered to successful Associate Professor applicants.

Position Qualifications

Applicants should possess a Ph.D. degree in Statistics, or related disciplines. They should be able to demonstrate excellence in teaching and research in Statistics. Preference will be given to those whose research interests focus on statistical theory and methodology, such as high-dimensional statistics, semiparametric/nonparametric methods, and Bayesian statistics. The teaching duties will be assigned by the Head of Department with a reduced teaching load in the first year of appointment.
