Duties and Responsibilities

The Scientific Writer will write, edit, and review manuscripts, grant proposals, research reports, and other scientific communications. Responsibilities include developing project synopses, outlines, and complete scientific works. The Scientific Writer will ensure effective communication of analytic findings and perform comprehensive literature reviews to contextualize the work within the existing body of knowledge. Additionally, the Scientific Writer will identify grant opportunities and develop content for grant proposals. This role will collaborate closely with the core analytic team on all projects. The Scientific Writer must have a strong understanding of the scientific method, with the capacity to tailor it to oncology research, exceptional writing skills, and the ability to translate complex scientific information into clear and compelling content for various audiences, propelling our program initiatives forward through the accurate communication of scientific findings.

Position Qualifications

Minimum Exeperience:
Proven experience in scientific writing, with a portfolio of published articles, papers, or reports or clear capacity to develop that ability within a short interval. Candidates will be expected to provide samples of their original writing, possibly including a test of hypothetical research reports.

Preferred:
The ability to function with minimal direct instruction and oversight.

minimum education:
Master’s degree in a scientific discipline (e.g., Biology, Chemistry, Biochemistry, Molecular Biology).

Preferred:
Ph.D. is preferred; professional degree such as MD degree e.g. a non-practicing foreign medical graduate also desirable.
