The Center for Statistical Training and Consulting (CSTAT) is a unit within the Office of Research and Innovation at MSU and has a proud tradition of collaborating with internationally renowned researchers. CSTAT provides employees with a diverse, challenging set of duties that foster learning new skills and knowledge and a collegial environment where employees regularly share information, ideas, resources, and solutions to problems. CSTAT invests in employees by providing on-the-job training, mentoring, and coaching; and providing financial support for professional development.
We support our collaborators by providing expertise and guidance on study design, statistical methods, interpretation of results, data management, conducting statistical analyses, and writing reproducible reports. We’d love you to be a part of that!
We are looking for someone with broad experience in applied statistics. We’d like you to have a strong interest in learning quickly on the job, to be passionate about ongoing learning, and to value keeping up with best practices. Responsibilities included collaborating on grant proposals and publications; applying statistical, computational, and scientific expertise to the design, analysis, interpretation, and reporting of research studies across a wide range of disciplines; participating in developing and delivering CSTAT workshops to the general University audience.
We're looking for someone who:
- Has a doctoral degree in statistics, biostatistics, or related quantitative/STEM field.
- Has experience with applied statistical methodology and has a strong interest in learning quickly on the job.
- Has experience with data science consulting and research projects and is passionate about ongoing learning and keeping up with best practices.
- Is comfortable working with multiple teams on tasks and taking the lead to see projects through to completion.
