Data Analyst

The recruited candidate will have chances to work with researchers in the Case Comprehensive Cancer Center (CCCC), Cleveland Alzheimer’s Disease Research Center (CADRC), Case Western Reserve University AIDS Research (Case CFAR), and The Cleveland Functional Electrical Stimulation (FES) Center. Authorship of a manuscript for biostatisticians is appropriate when the analyst has made contribution to the work described in the manuscript, including writing a statistical methods section, providing statistical results, or reviewing it for correctness.

Working under minimal supervision, the data analyst will play a leadership role in all aspects of data analysis, data management, software deployment, and report generation. The analyst is responsible for analysis of data from a variety of sources to support research projects and other efforts, within the School of Medicine, in other parts of the university, as well as with partner institutions (e.g., Cleveland Clinic). The analyst will participate in multiple projects related to multi-omics research and update the PI with weekly report of progress.

Duties and Responsibilities

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

1. Compiles, analyzes, and reports statistical data for various projects including, but not limited to manual and computer-aided data abstraction and evaluation, computerized imaging, and bioinformatics.
2. Applies advanced statistical methods, simulation models, and skilled programming as needed.
3. Develops software applications, scripts, or programs
4. Attends project meetings with collaborators with supervisor. Prepares written reports and presentations under guidance of the supervisor.
5. Assesses relevant literature as well as existing data, evaluates the quality of data used in reports and assists with preparation and distribution of data for committee and scientific meetings.

NONESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Define workflows, data flows, and data sourcing associated with research projects. Perform other duties as assigned.

Position Qualifications

Experience: 3-5 years of experience in working on biomedical research problems and knowledge of biostatistics and bioinformatics in Genetics/Genomics/Metagenomics

Education: The candidate should have a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in biostatistics, computer science, statistics, or related field.
