The Department of Statistics at The Pennsylvania State University invites applications for one Postdoctoral Scholar working with Dr. Michael Schweinberger.

Duties and Responsibilities

The postdoctoral scholar is expected to work on a set of statistical-theoretical problems concerned with networks, space, time, or causal inference based on discrete and dependent data, either Bayesian or non-Bayesian.

If desired, the postdoctoral scholar may teach one course in the Department of Statistics per year, but postdoctoral scholars are not expected to teach.

Position Qualifications

A Ph.D. in statistical science or data science is required at the time of appointment. Successful applicants will be expected to have a strong statistical background, research experience showing independence and innovation, and demonstrated academic writing skills. The initial appointment is funded for one year from the date of hire with a possibility of refunding.
