Assistant Professor/Associate Professor/Professor in Probability and Statistics, Biostatistics, Risk Management and Actuarial Science, Econometrics, and Data Science.

Duties and Responsibilities

Appointees will be expected to develop and teach courses in the undergraduate and postgraduate degree programmes; supervise undergraduate and postgraduate students and theses; commit to high quality scholarly research and publications in top tier disciplinary journals; lead applications for competitive national and international research funding. In addition, appointees are expected to provide departmental and university service where required.

Position Qualifications

The School of Statistics welcomes applications from exceptional statisticians from around the world to fill positions at the various ranks of Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, and Professor in the areas of Probability and Statistics, Biostatistics, Risk Management and Actuarial Science, Econometrics, and Data Science. The selection criteria for the above positions are based on an assessment of research and teaching, details of which can be found below.
Basic Qualifications
A PhD in Statistics or a related discipline is required by the time of the appointment. Successful applicants should have a strong track record of research publications, possess experience of teaching at the undergraduate level, and be able to work well on a team. Applicants should be able to demonstrate their ability or potential to make contributions to the field of statistics or other related disciplines.
Additional Qualifications
For the position of Professor, in addition to the above, applicants are expected to have a strong track record of research publications in top international peer-reviewed journals, achieved internationally recognized research accomplishments, experience in successfully obtaining research funding, and to have led and managed large scale research projects. Successful applicants should be able to demonstrate their ability to the lead the development of research that can make outstanding contributions and breakthroughs in the field of statistics or other related disciplines.
