Geisinger’s Department of Population Health Sciences is recruiting a full-time, non-faculty PhD Biostatistician. Will also consider an experienced MS level candidate. The Department currently consists of nine full-time and four clinical faculty members with expertise in biostatistics, epidemiology, genetic epidemiology, and health economics. The department also has a Biostatistics Core that is staffed with an additional seven MS and PhD biostatisticians. There is a strong interest to expand capabilities in pragmatic clinical trials, observational data analysis and casual modeling for the evaluation of Geisinger’s large clinical initiatives.
The Biostatistician will assist research faculty and clinical leadership throughout all stages of program evaluation from design to analysis and interpretation to presentation of results. The successful candidate also will provide training in biostatistical methods and mentor junior biostatisticians. Specifically, the individual will participate in study design, sample size and power estimation, analysis plan writing, data collection design, randomization, data management, and biostatistical analysis. Experience in observational data methods for electronic health record data (propensity scores, causal modeling, g-estimation, or marginal structural models) are essential. Experience managing large datasets in a healthcare environment preferred. Will consider remote working environment.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:
PhD degree in biostatistics or a closely related field, preferred. Will also consider a Master’s degree with at least 5 years of experience.
Consulting experience in a healthcare environment (2 or more years preferred), 1 year required.
Experience with at least one major statistical software package (SAS, R), required.
