Duties and Responsibilities

The Medical College of Georgia at Augusta University, Department of Population Health Sciences is seeking a highly motivated individual interested in biostatistics and bioinformatics for a position as a postdoctoral fellow. The candidate will be mentored by Dr. Yang Shi and will have the opportunities to work with Dr. Yang Shi's collaborators at the Biostatistics and Data Science Division, Department of Neuroscience, Vascular Biology Center and Georgia Cancer Center at the Medical College of Georgia. The candidate will be expected to work on development of statistical methodologies, computational algorithms and software packages, real data analysis in biostatistics and genomics, and publishing on decent journals. The starting date for this position will be 2020 Fall, but applications will be continuously reviewed until the position is filled. More information about Yang Shi is available here:

Position Qualifications

1. A doctoral degree in Statistics, Biostatistics, Bioinformatics, Computer Science, Applied Mathematics or other relevant disciplines.
2. Proficiency in at least one or of the popular programming languages for statistical and bioinformatic research and real-data analysis (e.g. R, C/C++, Python, MATLAB).
3. Experience working with statistical/computational method and software package development, large-scale genomics data and high-performance clusters with Unix/Linux systems are desirable.
