Academic Professional Track (Non-Tenure): Open Rank-Instructional Professor

The department has nine tenured and tenure track faculty members, four non-tenure earning faculty and staff members, and is home to over 120 graduate students. It offers a fully online Master of Public Health (MPH) degree in epidemiology and traditional MPH degrees in epidemiology and biostatistics. The department also offers an epidemiology concentration in the schoolwide Doctor of Public Health in Public Health Sciences. Additionally, Epidemiology and Biostatistics faculty teach in the School’s undergraduate public health degree program, which has nearly 800 students.

Duties and Responsibilities

The CEPH-accredited School of Public Health at Texas A&M University invites applications for a full‐time, 9-month, non-tenure residential instructional assistant or associate professor for the Department of Epidemiology and Biostatistics. This is an exciting opportunity for a teaching-focused individual who thrives in a dynamic environment to join a growing department with a commitment to scholarly inquiry and rigorous teaching in a broad spectrum of areas.

The successful candidate will teach online and face-to-face graduate and undergraduate courses in epidemiology and data management , provide academic advising and mentoring for Master of Public Health students, develop and implement a program of faculty development in online pedagogy, and contribute to public health pedagogy through scholarship. The teaching load is seven courses per year; this is a teaching intensive position. This 9‐month appointment would ideally start September 1, 2021, although this date is flexible. Position Qualifications

Minimum requirements: Doctoral degree in epidemiology, public health, or related field
Preferred qualifications:
- Commitment to excellence in teaching and mentoring students at both the undergraduate and graduate level
- Experience developing and teaching courses online and face-to-face with small and large classes (150+ students)
- Experience with innovative/high impact teaching methods
- Although this is primarily a teaching position, evidence of scholarship in epidemiology is helpful.
- Interest and ability to work with multidisciplinary and academic teams
