The University of Maryland, School of Medicine
The University of Maryland SOM is seeking a highly motivated postdoctoral fellow. The successful applicant will join Dr. Shuo Chen’s research group (https://www.umdbright.com/) and develop novel statistical and computational methods for brain imaging and genetics data analysis (http://login.mdbrain.org/NEW/HomePage.jsp/). The postdoctoral scholar will exploit the massive imaging-genetic-phenotypic (preprocessed) data sets from ENIGMA, UK biobank, and HCP as well as local data sets and build tailored statistical models to investigate neuropsychiatric disorders. Guidance will be provided by a strong and collaborative team of experts in biostatistics, genetics, brain imaging, and psychiatry.
The position requires a minimum of a Ph.D. degree in statistics, biostatistics, or a closely aligned quantitative area. Candidates with strong computational skills (proficient in one of the programming languages R, Matlab, and Python and experience with the high-performance cluster) are especially encouraged to apply. Excellent written and oral communication skills are required.
