Position TitlePostdoctoral Research Fellow (two openings)
The University of Pennsylvania (Penn) is a prestigious institution with the inclusive policies, innovative work, and impactful engagement of our faculty, students, and staff.
Applications are invited for candidates with a Ph.D. in biostatistics, statistics, or a related quantitative field for two Postdoctoral Research Fellow positions within the Department of Biostatistics, Epidemiology and Informatics, Perelman School of Medicine, at the University of Pennsylvania. The postdoctoral fellows will join Dr. Sharon Xie’s research lab and Penn Alzheimer’s Disease Center Biostatistics and Bioinformatics Core (https://www.med.upenn.edu/adcc/ ). The fellows will be primarily mentored by Dr. Sharon Xie, but are expected to work with a group of excellent statisticians, informaticians, neurologists, neuroscientists, and neuropathologists in the Penn Alzheimer’s Disease Center. The length of postdoctoral positions are flexible and can range from two to three years. The positions primarily involve developing novel statistical methods to address many challenges of analyzing Alzheimer’s disease and related dementia data, which is a fast growing area. Methodological areas of interest include missing data, high-dimensional data/big data, longitudinal data, measurement error, and survival analysis. In addition, the fellows are expected to work on collaborative projects to gain experience and produce publications in medical journals. The fellows will have many opportunities to identify their own research projects of interest through working on real-world problems. The positions are funded via Dr. Xie’s R01 grant and Penn Alzheimer’s Disease Center grant. Sharon Xie's website is http://www.dbei.med.upenn.edu/bio/sharon-xiangwen-xie-phd
