Position TitleAssistant/Associate/Full Professor of Biostatistics
The Department of Biostatistics is recruiting a full-time 12-month tenure or non-tenure-track faculty member at the Assistant, Associate or Full Professor level. The Department is situated jointly within the College of Public Health and Health Professions (PHHP) and the College of Medicine (COM), in the Clinical and Translational Research Building, facilitating multidisciplinary research. Faculty members pursue independent and collaborative research; they also teach in the MS and PhD in Biostatistics Programs and support a concentration in Biostatistics as part of the Masters of Public Health Program. They are advisors and mentors to a wide variety of students. Recently the Department and the NIH-funded Clinical and Translational Science Institute (CTSI) jointly established a new data coordinating center.
The University of Florida is located in Gainesville, FL, which has been ranked the Best Place to Live in the US by Sperling and Sander’s Cities Ranked & Rated. The College of Public Health and Health Professions and the College of Medicine are in the University’s Health Science Center, which also includes the Colleges of Pharmacy, Nursing, Dentistry, and Veterinary Health. The Health Science Center also partners with the immediately adjacent UF Health Shands Hospital, and Malcom Randall VA Medical Center, and the UF Health Science Center Regional campus located in Jacksonville, FL. Additional major institutes and centers located at the University of Florida include the Emerging Pathogens Institute, the Institute of Child Health Policy, the UF Health Cancer Center, the UF Genetics Institute, the Clinical and Translational Science Institute and the McKnight Brain Institute, all of which provide state-of-the-art environments and access to large data sets for faculty collaboration.

Qualifications include a doctoral degree in biostatistics or related quantitative discipline. For senior hires, a record of academic accomplishments, scholarly recognition and leadership responsibilities to warrant appointment at the level of professor or associate professor is essential. For hires at the assistant professor level, potential to develop such a record should be demonstrated.
The ideal candidate will contribute to the many current clinical and basic science studies at UF CTSI, as evidenced by a history of peer-reviewed publications and involvement in grant supported research projects, if applicable. Preference will be given to applicants with an outstanding record doing team science or collaborative biostatistics with an emphasis in clinical or translational science. Areas of particular interest include clinical trial design, high throughput data analysis, and/or data privacy technologies. The desired candidate is expected to identify and resolve methodological issues that arise in collaborative research.
