Position TitleAssistant Professor
The Department of Biostatistics and Informatics (BIOS) is one of five departments in the Colorado School of Public Health.
The Colorado School of Public Health is part of the University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus. Faculty and students in the department apply analytic methods, statistical reasoning and information management techniques to the design and analysis of studies in medical and public health. Professional and research activities include the design and analysis of basic, applied and translational research and clinical trials, statistical consulting, developing of new statistical methods, disease information services, research databases and more.
Responsibilities for the faculty member will include teaching, mentoring graduate students and developing a research portfolio. The research portfolio will involve both collaborative and methodological research. In collaboration with other investigators the successful candidate will be involved in preparation of grant applications and analysis and publication of data generated from funded studies. T
• PhD degree in statistics, biostatistics, mathematics, computer science, applied mathematics or related fields.
• Expertise in data science and `big data’ analysis with one of the following primary areas of interest: genomics, computational neuroscience, medical image analysis, spatial statistics, optimization theory, database management, distributed computing and machine learning.
