Duties and Responsibilities

The Department of Statistics and Data Science at the University of Central
Florida (UCF) seeks to hire two nine-month, tenure-track assistant professors
of statistics, anticipated to begin in August 2020. The successful candidates
will contribute to teaching in the undergraduate and graduate programs and
are expected to develop an externally funded, nationally competitive research
program in big data analytics.

Position Qualifications

Minimum Qualification: A Ph.D. in tatistics, Data Science or a closely related field from a regionally accredited institution by the start of hire is required. All but dissertation
(ABD) will be considered as long as the doctorate is completed by the date of
Preferred Qualifications: Preference will be given to those with teaching experience in data mining and big data analytics, statistical machine learning, or a willingness to teach courses in these areas.
