Position Title: Assistant Professor (Non-Tenure Track)

Duties and Responsibilities: This faculty position will co-direct the newly established “Center for Biostatistics Collaboration and Data Services (CBCDS)” where the center’s goal is to integrate and coordinate the biostatistics, informatics, and computational/quantitative data science expertise and resources to provide a one-stop support/service to biomedical and health science research and practice at UTHealth, TMC and general research communities at large. This position is expected to be responsible for daily operation and management for the CBCDS, including coordination of biostatistics support and services to biomedical and health science investigators in grant writing, data analysis, and data management and other data service needs. Responsibilities also include promoting the CBCDS collaboration/services, performing experimental design (sample size or power calculations), study monitoring, data analysis, drafting data analysis reports, training students and other statisticians for collaboration and services, and tracking the collaboration/service projects. Position Qualifications: A Ph.D. degree in biostatistics, statistics or related disciplines is required. Applicants must demonstrate exceptional communication skills and experience working in a collaboration and consulting service environment in academia, industry or government. Preference will be given to the candidates with collaboration experience on clinical, observational and basic biomedical science studies, including experience in study design, data analysis and drafting data analysis report. Experience in promoting biostatistics collaboration and services among biomedical and health science investigators is a plus. Strong statistical programming skills (including SAS, R, STAT etc.), excellent oral and written communication skills are required.
