The Department of Statistics at the University of Central Florida (UCF) has an opening beginning August 8, 2018 for a nine-month, non-tenure earning visiting assistant professor. The position is non-renewable. The teaching load will be 2 courses per semester. The successful candidate will contribute to teaching in both the undergraduate and graduate programs. The Department of Statistics at UCF offers a B.S. in Statistics, a B.S. in Actuarial Science, an M.S. in Statistical Computing with a track in Data Mining and a Ph.D. In Big Data Analytics.
Position Title: VISITING ASSISTANT PROFESSOR
Duties and Responsibilities: Teaching two courses per semester
Position Qualifications: A Ph.D. in Statistics or a closely related field from a regionally accredited institution by the start of the appointment period is required. (ABD will be considered as long as doctorate is completed by hire date.) Preference will be given to those with expertise in data mining and big data analytics and a willingness to teach in these areas.
